coat tale productions first podcast

Based on an original idea and script from screenwriters Nick Hagen and Dana Speer, Coat Tale productions will be diving into the production and release of a podcast we feel will serve a truly under-served audience. Sheer is an idea that we believe will resonate with audiences and a script that is worthy of producing.

Nick Hagen and Paige McKenzie collaborate on the shot.

Why a podcast? Well first of all, we love podcasts! So that part’s easy. Perhaps more importantly, Sheer is one of those scripts that we believe will easily find an obsessive audience. Everyone loves discovering their new favorite podcast and telling their friends about it and we believe that Sheer will be just that.

We’re beyond excited to dive into the Podcast format and work with some amazingly talented people. Sheer is currently being rewritten for the podcast format. We plan to record in the fall of 2021 with a release of season 1 in December 2021.

Our production team setting up for the opening scene in Misfits.

What’s Sheer about? Realizing society has rendered them invisible due to being middle-aged, four women start stealing from those who wronged them. But as the heists become ever more daring and trouble closes in, it soon becomes hilariously clear there’s only one thing that can save them—staying invisible.

Nick, Paige and Mason Brown block out the scene.

The format of podcasting allows us to tell the story of these women in a creative, engaging and intimate way. This is a big story full of big characters pulling off even bigger heists all leading to a conclusion you won’t be able to see coming… because that’s just how these woman wanted it.
